Day 2
Vancouver to Kamloops
Settle in on the Rocky Mountaineer today and head from Vancouver to Kamloops, where you’ll pass through dramatic scenery changes of the surrounding regions. After journeying past Fraser River Valley, the peaks of the Coast and Cascade mountains and Hell’s Gate in Fraser Canyon, your day will conclude along the shores of the Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops itself. (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 3
Kamloops to Banff
Continue east towards the province of Alberta and the majestic Canadian Rockies today, where you’ll once again be treated to breath-taking scenery through lakeshores, ranchlands and mountain passes. The highlights of today include Craigellachie (where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven), Kicking Horse Canyon and Rogers Pass, as well as the beauty of the snow-capped peaks of the Rockies. Your rail journey ends in the resort town of Banff this evening. (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 4
Banff
This morning you are free to explore Banff on your own. In the afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour where you can experience the natural beauty of Bow Falls, the Banff Gondola (admission included), Lake Minnewanka, the Hoodoos and Surprise Corner.

Day 5
Free Day In Banff
Today you will have an entire day to spend exploring Banff National Park on your own. Optional activities include soaking in the mineral pools at Upper Hot Springs, enjoying a nature walk on nearby mountain trails, visiting Banff's historic museums or playing a round of gold at the Fairmont Banff Springs.

Day 6
Banff to Lake Louise
Take a half-day tour into Yoho National Park, exploring Emerald Lake, Kicking Horse River and the natural rock bridge that spans it, and the Spiral Tunnels. The tour ends in Lake Louise – the rest of the afternoon can be spent at leisure.

Day 8
Lake Louise to Jasper
Explore Banff and Jasper National Parks today on a sightseeing tour via the Icefields Parkway. One of the major highlights along the way is the Columbia Icefield which is one of the most accessible icefields in North America. You’ll have the opportunity to take a ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier, followed by lunch (not included). You will arrive in Jasper later on in the afternoon.

Day 9
Jasper Highlights Tour
Today you will take a scenic half day tour of Jasper National Park, the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies. The tour will include the parks natural attractions and rugged peaks and hopefully catch a glimpse of the wildlife that calls this region home. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore more of Jasper independently.

Day 10
Jasper to Quesnel
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to the rural town of Quesnel – the gateway to North Cariboo. You will pass the Rocky Mountain Trench and onwards to the rolling hillsides of British Columbia’s northern interior. The highlights on this route include the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson, as well as the Yellowhead Pass and Moose Lake. The day ends passing through the town of Prince George and follows the Fraser River into Quesnel. (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 11
Quesnel to Whistler
Head south today to the four-season resort of Whistler. The awe-inspiring and diverse scenery of this area is breath-taking, as your route takes you through the ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau to Pemberton Valley. Highlights include Deep Creek Bridge (one of the highest railway bridges in the world), the shores of glacial-fed Seton Lake and Fraser Canyon. Your journey ends in Whistler, where the 2010 Winter Olympic Games alpine events were held. (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 12
Whistler to Vancouver
The morning is free to explore Whistler Village at leisure, then return to Vancouver in the afternoon via the Rocky Mountaineer through the scenic ‘Sea to Sky’ region. This region includes the Cheakamus Canyon, Mount Garibaldi, Shannon Falls and the Coast Mountains, as well as spectacular views of Howe Sound. An afternoon meal is served onboard – upon arrival into North Vancouver, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in downtown Vancouver.

Vancouver
Your holiday ends with check-out from your Vancouver hotel and an independent transfer to the airport for your transatlantic flight back home. Alternatively extend your holiday in Vancouver or take a cruise to Alaska.
