Day 1
Fly to Toronto
On arrival into Toronto, take the UP Express train from the airport terminal to Union Street Station, and then the short cab ride to your hotel.
Day 2
Toronto
A day to discover Toronto. We’ve included a cruise of Toronto harbour and islands, but you could also ascend the CN Tower for panoramic views of Lake Ontario. You could take an afternoon stroll to the Distillery District is our recommendation for you to browse the independent boutiques, enjoy a drink in one of the quirky bars, followed by dinner in one of the varied restaurants.
Day 3
Day trip to Niagara Falls
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning and transferred to Niagara Falls by coach. Enjoy a stroll to various viewpoints to admire this wonder of the world, then board the Niagara Cruise to get up close to the thundering Falls. Around midday you’ll enjoy a six course lunch at the Fallsview Restaurant overlooking the Falls. Later in the afternoon you’ll be taken to “Canada’s Prettiest Town” – Niagara on the Lake – where you’ll have free time to explore the lovely boutiques and perhaps try out some of the local wine in one of the many winery tasting rooms.
Day 4
Toronto to Ottawa
Return to Union Station to catch your train to Ottawa which takes just over four hours. enjoy the spacious seats, wifi and complimentary food and beverages in Business Class as you travel through the Ontario countryside. The route takes you along Lake Ontario, past the Thousand Island region, along the St Lawrence River, before heading inland to Ottawa. Take a taxi to your chosen hotel and enjoy an evening in downtown Ottawa, perhaps browsing the independent shops and cafes in Byward Market.
Day 5
Ottawa
Today choose between a cruise on the Rideau Canal or the Ottawa River, both taking 1.5 hours. The Rideau Canal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a fascinating history. or on the Ottawa River you can enjoy views of Parliament Hill and the Prime Minister’s Residence.
Day 6
Ottawa
Depending how energetic you’re feeling you could take a guided bike ride, a walking tour or perhaps book a hop-on hop-off bus tour. “Must-sees” are the Parliament Buildings, National Gallery of Canada and the combined Canadian Museum of History and War Museum. We can pre-book tickets for you for any of these attractions.
Day 7
Ottawa - Montreal
Board your next train for an enjoyable journey to Montreal for a two night stay. Enjoy the evening in the old town of Montreal in one of the delightful bistro’s.
Day 8
Quebec City
Set off on a full-day tour from Montreal to Quebec City, the historic heart of French Canada. With its European feel, Quebec City’s old town became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Expert guides will highlight the city's key sights, including a stop at Montmorency Falls which is taller than Niagara Falls. Return to Montreal this evening.
Day 9
Montreal
Enjoy a day in Montreal, perhaps taking one of these optional excursions – a half day sightseeing tour or a walking tour of Old Montreal. This evening board the VIA Rail Ocean Train and check out your overnight sleeper accommodation, before enjoying dinner in the dining car.
Day 10
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Wake up to stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, rolling hills, and charming coastal villages. After leaving the train, enjoy a scenic private transfer to Charlottetown across the Confederation Bridge. Overnight in Charlottetown for two nights.
Day 11
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Today you will enjoy a scenic tour along the pretty Green Gables Shore, with views of rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, charming villages, and bustling harbours. Enjoy a visit to Ann of Green Gables house, then a pleasant evening in Charlottetown.
Day 12
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to Halifax, Nova Scotia
In the morning you can choose an optional excursion, either a lobster cruise or a Charlottetown highlights tour. This afternoon take your private transfer back over the Confederation Bridge to Halifax the capital of Nova Scotia for a two night stay.
Day 13
Halifax
Enjoy your time in the Halifax area with either a Halifax harbourfront food walking tour, a tour of Halifax plus Peggy's Cove or Lunenburg tour with lobster lunch. In the evening explore the Halifax waterfront, it’s boardwalk filled with stalls, bars and restaurants.
Day 14
Halifax - St. John’s Newfoundland
Check-out from your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to St. John’s Newfoundland, then transfer independently to your hotel. This evening you’ll want to head to George Street, where you find a great selection of bars and restaurants to sample over the course of your stay in St. John’s.
Day 15
St John’s and surrounds - Sightseeing
Join the “Historical St. John’s and Cape Spear guided tour, which will give you a great orientation of the city and it’s surrounds for three hours. You will be driven to the National Historic Site of Cape Spear where you may walk to a World War II gun battery and spot whales at the most Easterly point in North America. Here you will also find the oldest standing lighthouse in North America. Then you will head back into the city and be taken to the top of Signal Hill to admire the panoramic views and hear historic tales of North America’s oldest colony. Other places of interest you’ll visit include the picturesque Quidi Vidi Village, Government House, the Roman Catholic Cathedral and an orientation of the shops and restaurants of downtown St. John’s.
Day 15
St John’s – Whale watching & wildlife viewing cruise
Today take the Iceberg Quest Boat Tour to see whales, icebergs and puffins. This is a two-hour narrated tour, departing from downtown aboard the M.V. Cetecean Quest. You will sail through “The Narrows” and past Cabot Tower en route to Cape Spear. You’ll cruise through pristine waters that are home to the world’s largest concentration of humpback whales. There’s a chance you’ll see icebergs and it’s very likely that you’ll see puffins frolicking along the coastline. Experience Cape Spear from the sea – the most easterly point of North America.
Day 16
Fly home
