Days 4 to 6

Southern Lakes Resort

Transfer to the gorgeous Southern Lakes Resort for a three night stay - either by coach or upgrade to that iconic Canadian mode of transport - the floatplane. Located just south east of Whitehorse, this beautiful wilderness resort lies within the territory of the Carcross Tagish First Nation and is a wonderful place to experience the rugged beauty of the Yukon. You will stay in a private traditional log cabin, by the side of Tagish Lake. Each cabin has a bedroom, bathroom, living area and outside deck.

Enjoy walking the extensive trails around the resort, or take a more adventurous hike for views over Windy Arm and Tagish Lake. You can rent canoes and kayaks or book a fishing tour. If you’re there in late August, autumn or winter then you may be able to experience the Northern Lights on a clear dark night.

Day 7

Whitehorse

After breakfast, take the return shuttle transfer to Whitehorse for another couple of nights and to explore this great little city. The rest of today is at leisure. You might want to visit Takhini Hot Springs, or visit the Yukon Transportation Museum – a unique look at how the early bush pilots struggled to make community access easier and how the Gold Rush stampeders forged their way through the territory by boat, train and foot.

Overnight: The Sternwheeler Hotel, Whitehorse or similar

Day 8
