Day 1

Fly to Toronto

Arrive into Pearson International Airport in Toronto then transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Check-in and enjoy the rest of the day to explore the city at leisure.

Day 2

Toronto/Niagara Falls Excursion (161 miles)

Today is a free day to discover the delights of Toronto at your own pace. This vibrant metropolis has much to offer in the way of attractions and activities, from the Rogers Centre (formerly the SkyDome) and the harbourfront district to the Eaton Centre for shopping. Included today is admission to the CN Tower which is an impressive glass lift which takes you up to the observation lounge at 553m high. If you want a really amazing experience, you should plan in a visit to the renowned Niagara Falls which is around an hour and a half drive south of Toronto. The route takes you through the wine-growing regions of Ontario and the neighbouring picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. There will be no shortage of attractions and photo opportunities here!

Day 3

Toronto to Ottawa (280 miles)

Driving east today, you’ll follow the shoreline of lake Ontario and pass through the smaller villages found dotted along the landscape. The city of Kingston is where the prestigious Queen’s University can be found but this area is also the gateway to the beautiful Thousand Islands. As the road turns north you’ll be heading along the Rideau Heritage Route along the Rideau River, which takes you through towns such as Smiths Falls and Edmond’s Lock. In the afternoon you will arrive into Ottawa.

Day 4

Ottawa to Quebec City (286 miles)

Before you leave Ottawa you may wish to take a trip to the Parliament Buildings, the National Gallery or some of the museums; alternatively, you can take a tour of the Royal Canadian Mint or take a boat ride on the Ottawa River. Crossing the border into Quebec, you will take to the north shore of the St. Lawrence which will take you through the town of Trois Rivières. We suggest stopping at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception which is a Gothic cathedral with magnificent stained glass windows throughout. Later on you’ll pass through the walled gates of Quebec City where you’ll spend the next couple of days exploring.

Day 5

Quebec City

Today you have a full day to really experience the very best of Canada’s oldest city. This area is a designated United Nations World Heritage Site and was founded in 1608. There is a sightseeing tour available to help you learn more about the past and present of Quebec City, where you’ll visit the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Citadel, the Place Royale and the Basilica, as well as many other points of interest within the city. In the evening, dine in one of the countless restaurants serving up delectable cuisine.

Day 6

Quebec to Montreal (158 miles)

Begin today with a scenic drive through the rolling plains and hillsides of the Mauricie/Bois-Francs and Lanaudiere regions as you head for the spectacular scenery of Lac à la Truite. Make a stop in Berthierville to visit the Gilles Villeneuve Museum then continue your journey onwards to Montreal. We suggest a visit to Notre-Dame Basilica, the Biodome, the Olympic Site or the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts while you’re here.

Day 7

Montreal to Kingston (181 miles)

Cross the border into Ontario this morning and explore the breath-taking Thousand Islands region. While you’re here you may choose to visit the colonial grounds of Queen’s University or the museum of the Royal Military College which is the oldest military academy in Canada. You will also enjoy a cruise of the Thousand Islands region which is an unforgettable experience.

Day 8

Kingston – Toronto/End of Tour (161 miles)

The road west of the shores of Lake Ontario leads you back through Prince Edward County, passing historic communities and charming summer homes. Stop off in Picton for a taste of locally-produced cheeses and wines, then continue on towards Pearson International Airport for your return flight.
