For two weeks in February Ottawa is transformed into a celebration of all things snowy and frozen for the Winterlude festival. The iconic Rideau Canal Skateway hosts a variety of events and you’ll find the Snowflake Kingdom in Jacques Cartier Park.
Our favourite hotels in Ontario
Home to the bustling and dynamic Toronto, thundering Niagara Falls and myriad freshwater lakes, Ontario also offers year-round access to its vast wilderness, endless forests and abundant wildlife.
With such an array of things to see and do, we have put together a comprehensive range of hotels and resorts from across the province.
In an otherwise flat province in the 1940s these scenic hills with wonderful views out to the lake were developed into a ski resort, which is now the 3rd busiest in Canada. To support the keen skiers Blue Mountain established a picturesque village centre at the base of the mountain with a wide selection of restaurants and boutiques; over time it has developed into a destination for a fabulous variety of summer outdoor activities too.
Blue Mountain is an alpine resort in Ontario almost on the shores of one of the Great Lakes, Lake Huron. The perfect complement to a Toronto city break, combining the best of cosmopolitan Canadian city life with some outdoor fun.
A centrally located modern hotel, just a few minutes walk from Parliament Hill, this is a great base from which to explore Ottawa. There is an indoor pool and fitness centre, plus the lively LIFT Bar where you can relax after a days sightseeing.
