Ultimate Churchill Adventure

6 nights from €12,799 per person Including Flights

Overview

Encountering polar bears in the enormous, craggy Arctic is an unforgettable experience, and this impressive six-night, small group escorted tour is the perfect way to do so. Boarding the Polar Rover, a technologically-advanced vehicle with large windows and a steel viewing deck, you’ll explore the tundra for epic sightings of these magnificent creatures.

The tour also includes extra special activities. These include hopefully seeing the alluring northern lights in an Aurora Dome, whizzing through a boreal forest on an amazing dog-sledding ride, and even potentially taking a peek inside a vacant polar bear den after a helicopter ride over Hudson Bay.

Please note: Itineraries may vary slightly, but all inclusions will remain the same. Please also note that polar bear sightings are not 100% guaranteed. Since Natural Habitat Adventures was founded in 1989, there have only been a handful of times that polar bears have been missed, however the distance and frequency in which you see the polar bears can differ depending on weather. Day 1

Winnipeg

Your trip begins in the lovely city of Winnipeg, Manitoba’s cultural and commercial capital. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the historic Fort Garry Hotel, a prestigious hospitality landmark in Winnipeg. In the evening, meet your Expedition Leader and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.

Day 2

Winnipeg – Churchill

Start the day with a private chartered flight to Churchill, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour with the Expedition Leader. In the evening, you’ll head out on your first tundra excursion to see the polar bears. Dinner is served onboard the Polar Rover under the night sky.

Day 3

Churchill

An exciting day ahead. You’ll start with a helicopter tour of Hudson Bay, and the surrounding tundra and boreal forest. Look out for sightings of polar bear and caribou. You’ll then land for a tour of the tundra on foot, searching for Arctic fox and Arctic hare, and perhaps even crawling into an unoccupied polar bear den.

Later in the day, you’ll enjoy an exciting and authentic dog sledding excursion. Meet a local musher and his dogs, and then head out on a memorable ride through the forest behind beautiful huskies.

Next up, you’ll head to an indigenous community to learn about their traditions and daily lives, as well as a visit to Churchill’s Itsanitaq Museum to see centuries-old artefacts.

Day 4

Churchill

Enjoy an uninterrupted full day on a Polar Rover, taking time to explore the vast landscape and encounter polar bears. Despite accommodation more than 30 passengers, there’ll be just 15 on board to ensure you get a window seat. The Expedition Leaders know the best places to look for polar bears, so you have the best opportunities to see them in their natural habitat.

Day 5

Churchill

Enjoy another full day of polar bear watching onboard your heated Polar Rover. In the evening, if the sky is clear you will visit a heated Aurora Dome to hopefully see the northern lights in all their glory. The Plexiglass roof and 360-degrede views of the night sky is the perfect way to stargaze.

Day 6

Churchill – Winnipeg

You’ll have a bit of free time in the morning, in case you want to pick up some handicrafts or souvenirs. After a farewell lunch, you’ll board another chartered plane to transfer back to Winnipeg, where you’ll enjoy a final dinner together.
