Day 1

Fly to Vancouver

Fly to Vancouver and check in to your hotel for three nights.

Overnight: Georgian Court or similar

Days 2 & 3

Vancouver

Vancouver is widely considered the Culinary Capital of Canada, and for good reason. Its coastal location means that seafood is plentiful, the Japanese and Asian influences provide a wide range of tastes for all palates and there is a strong promotion of local, seasonal produce resulting in some top class foodie experiences. Granville Island is a wonderful starting point for sampling all these things, and you can either stroll the market independently or book a guided tour to include all sorts of tasting.

Overnight: Georgian Court or similar

Day 4

Vancouver – Harrison Hot Springs (82 miles)

This morning pick up your hire car and head east, and we’ve chosen Harrison Hot Springs Resort as a great place to relax and break the journey up, giving you chance to swim in the natural hot springs and enjoy the lake. However if you don’t mind a long drive then you could skip that and drive straight to Osoyoos which will take around 5 hours from Vancouver

Overnight: Harrison Hot Springs Resort or similar

Day 5

Harrison Hot Springs – Osoyoos (179 miles)

Today you’ll drive into the Okanagan Valley – known for its sunny climate and fertile ground with countless orchards and vineyards. First stop is Osoyoos, located in the southern part of the region beside a beautiful lake. Osoyoos Lake is a lovely place to stay, with its warm shallow waters and sandy beaches being ideal for a relaxing day or two.

Overnight: Walnut Beach Resort or similar

Day 6

Osoyoos

Enjoy all that the lake has to offer, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, to build up an appetite for dinner, either in the resort restaurant or in one of the many eateries just a short walk away. There’s a great choice, and lots of local beers and wines to pair with your food.

Overnight: Walnut Beach Resort or similar

Day 7

Osoyoos - Kelowna (76 miles)

Drive north through the Okanagan Valley, along the shores of Okanagan Lake into the heart of this region and the town of Kelowna. No stay in this region would be complete without a trip to a winery. There’s a particular tour we recommend taking in an eclectic mix of wineries and most importantly including transportation! The Okanagan Valley is very much the playground for Canadians, who come here to enjoy the sunshine, the food and activities on the lakes.

Overnight: Delta Grand Okanagan Resort or similar

Day 8

Kelowna

Stretch your legs with a walk through Myra Canyon Park or Waterfront Park along the banks of impressive Lake Okanagan. There’s a massive range of restaurants to choose from for your dinner tonight, from cosy bistros to smart wine bars and including cuisines such as Farm to Fork, Asian, European and traditional Canadian. We can book a sunset dinner cruise for you on Lake Okanagan or a tour of a local winery.

Overnight: Delta Grand Okanagan Resort or similar

Day 9

Kelowna – Sun Peaks (138 miles)

Today you’re leaving the lakes and heading for the mountains. Drive north alongside Lake Okanagan, over to Kamloops, turning off Highway 5 for the final 30 minutes meandering road up to the resort of Sun Peaks. Arriving mid afternoon will still give you time to park, check-in and then ride up the chairlift for a stroll through the alpine wildflower meadows. The chairlift runs until 7pm from June to September so you’ve plenty of time to work up an appetite for dinner. The centre of the village is pedestrianised, and there’s a good choice of restaurants that you can wander to in just a matter of minutes.

Overnight: Nancy Greene's Cahility Hotel or similar

Day 10

Sun Peaks

A full day to enjoy the activities in and around Sun Peaks. For golfers there is an excellent course looping around the edge of the village. Mountain bikers will be challenged by the steep downhill trails. There is a fun go-cart track with gravity bringing you speeding down the track. And there are miles and miles of marked trails for all levels of fitness, taking you through the beautiful countryside. Sun Peaks sits in the middle of three mountains – Mount Tod, Mount Morrisey and Sundance Mountain, with nearby lakes including McGillvray Lake and Heffley Lake.

Overnight: Nancy Greene's Cahility Hotel or similar

Day 11

Sun Peaks - Whistler (222 miles)

A lovely drive today back down the valley and onto Whistler. You can break the journey by stopping in the tiny community of Lilloeet, where you could enjoy lunch at the Fort Berens Estate Winery, enjoy a stroll along the two bridges trail and even have a swim in Seton Lake. Then continue along Highway 99 onto Whistler and check into your hotel.

Overnight: Aava Whistler Hotel or similar

Day 12

Whistler

You can enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities in Whistler irrespective of how fit and keen you are. From exhilarating mountain biking to strolls along the valley trails through the forests and alongside the lakes, taking in such sights as Brandywine Falls and Garibaldi Lake. Whistler has a great reputation for top class restaurants and there are a couple of foodie tours we could book for you, such as the Whistler Finer Things walking tour takes you through four courses in four different restaurants including visiting an impressive 15,000 bottle wine cellar. Or the Hidden Gems tour with a course each in four favourite local restaurants.

Overnight: Aava Whistler Hotel or similar

Day 13

Whistler – Vancouver Airport (75 miles)

It’s the end of the holiday and time to drive back to the airport for your flight home. But first you have the lovely scenic drive out of Whistler along the Sea to Sky Highway. If you’re catching a later flight then you could stop in Squamish and take the Sea to Sky Gondola for some final views over British Columbia.
