The Canadian Rockies encompass incredible scenery and activity-packed mountain resorts. This tour heads out from Calgary to discover some of the very best the Canadian Rockies can offer, from Lake Louise and Yoho National Park to the Icefields Parkway, Jasper, Maligne Canyon and Banff.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Calgary

Arrive in Calgary and take a complimentary transfer to your city hotel. Meet your Tour Director and join fellow travelers at the early evening Welcome Reception at the hotel.

Day 2 - Calgary - Lake Louise

Head west from Calgary to enter Banff National Park to see some of the most scenic lakes in North America. Arriving at Lake Louise you'll join a narrated walk along the shoreline before moving on to the Valley of the Ten Peaks and beautiful Moraine Lake. We cross the Continental Divide into Yoho National Park, where you will see the Natural Bridge, Spiral Tunnels and the glittering Emerald Lake. The tour will return to Lake Louise for your overnight stop.

Day 3 - Lake Louise - Columbia Icefield - Jasper

We motor down the Icefields Parkway with spectacular mountain scenery at every turn: huge glaciers, lakes, and sub-alpine forests and meadows. The area is also a haven for wildlife like elk, moose, black bear and even grizzlies. You'll stop at the Columbia Icefield to take an Ice Explorer ride on the Athabasca Glacier. Later, we arrive in the mountain resort of Jasper for a two-night stay in the very heart of the Rockies. After dinner at your hotel there will be a fascinating talk on the local wildlife.

Day 4 - Jasper National Park

We take a narrated walk in Maligne Canyon where you learn about the huge system of underground rivers and marvel at the canyon's waterfalls and dramatic rock formations. The rest of the day is yours to spend independently in the park. Your Tour Director can suggest dozens of activities for you.

Day 5 - Jasper - Icefields Parkway - Banff

Heading back to Banff past snowy peaks, waterfalls and glaciers, we stop for lunch at the Lodge of the Ten Peaks before taking the Lake Louise Gondola and visiting the award-winning interpretive centre where you can join guided walks or view screened wildlife presentations. We arrive in the town of Banff for a two-night stay, starting off with an orientation tour that will take you to Surprise Corner, Tunnel Mountain Drive, Bow Falls and to see the area's famous weathered rock 'hoodoos'.

Day 6 - Banff

You have free time today to go explore! Options include a boat trip on the Bow River, a trip on the Banff Gondola or a helicopter flight above Mount Assiniboine. In the evening join your Tour Director and travelling companions for a Farewell Dinner to toast a great Canadian journey.

Day 7 - Banff - Calgary

We leave the Canadian Rockies and head back to Calgary. Take the complimentary transfer to the airport or downtown for those opting to extend their stay in Canada.
