A stunning Relais & Chateaux property, the Sonora Resort is the ultimate in wilderness luxury. Located within British Columbia's cluster of Discovery Islands, this wilderness lodge offers unparalleled accommodation, food, service and facilities in one of Canada's most alluring environments. The food comes highly recommended, with a choice every evening of either a la carte menu or tasting menu. Guest rooms all have gorgeous ocean views plus a set of binoculars so you can spot wildlife from the comfort of your cosy room – each one with its own fireplace.

During your stay, all meals, wine and beer are included, and you will have the run of the outdoor heated pool, hot tubs overlooking the ocean, plus full-service spa with sauna and steam rooms. You have complimentary use of mountain bikes, a range of hiking trails and plenty of fly fishing options.  You also have the choice of several amazing excursions to tailor-make your experiences to your tastes - whether it's bear watching or salmon fishing.

You will have included a Canadian Signature Experience – the Eco Adventure Tour where you will see otters, seals, sealions schools of white-sided dolphins and humpback whales. You may also be able to spot Orca and the prime time for seeing these magnificent Killer Whales is July and August. You can spot Black Bear feasting on mussels on the rocks in May and June.

You have the opportunity to view Grizzly Bears from mid August to mid October on a guided tour (extra charge). Journey up Bute Inlet by boat and arrive at Orford Bay where a Homalco First Nations guide will take you by vehicle along logging roads to covered viewing towers to safely view the bears pluck salmon from the riverbank.

We can also book guided salmon fishing, available from May to October, at an extra charge
